Tiny Metal Launches for PlayStation 4 Later This Month

Sony Music Entertainment Japan took some time today to unveil their indie games label UNTIES will be debuting its first title, Tiny Metal, will be launching on the PlayStation 4 later this month on December 21. The game promises a fusion of the classic turn-based strategy games of old and the modern 3D Graphics of the present. For a quick trailer from this past PAX West, check out below:

For those headed to the PlayStation Experience this weekend, Area 35 – the games developer – will have two new features to show off: Hero Units and Multiplayer. Hero Units, as the name implies, are units that players can unlock by playing through the campaign. Their rank is maintained throughout battles and they can be leveled up throughout the game.

For a brief look into the game, make sure to check out a description of the game below:

Return to Japanese Arcade War Gaming! TINY METAL is a turn-based strategy game of skill and tactics inspired by Japanese arcade war games of the past (like the Advance Wars series). Step into the aftermath of a kingdom reeling from an assassination and try to restore order through military might. Roll out tanks, take control of cities, launch aerial strikes, expand your squad, and struggle for territory in a stylistic tactical war game for fans young and old.

Play as Artemisian Lieutenant Nathan Gries as he commands his units against the villainous nation of Zipang. Players will have to carefully consider varying terrain, positioning for attacks, and strategic advancements and defenses.

Tiny Metal is set to launch on December 21.
