Ghost Games has announced that today, a major change to Need for Speed Payback’s progression system is being made after the studio listened to feedback on the fans. According to the studio, the REP (your driver’s experience level) and Bank (in-game currency) will be increased for all events throughout the game.
Hopefully, the studio said, this change in Bank and REP will allow players to purchase more cars and parts, while also awarding players more shipments. The studio also announced that the amount of time it takes for parts within the tune-up shops to refresh has changed from 30 minutes to just 10.
Since the launch of Need for Speed Payback, there has been a bit of controversy going on surrounding the progression system in the game. Many fans thought that the in-game payouts given to fans were placed in the game simply to force players to grind through older events they had already beaten in order to upgrade their car, or buy a new one. Now, it looks like Ghost Games has finally addressed the issue and is making a huge batch of changes to the game to help placate fans. Ghost Games has said most of these changes are already live, but there will be a future patch to address even more issues.
