New Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds Gameplay Shows Off Story Quest

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds releases next week, and Sony just released a 10+ minute gameplay video. It shows the expansion being played by Guerrilla Games’ Tim Stobo and Blake Rebouche as they show off a quest from the game called “The Survivor.”

Here’s how Sony describes the video:

Guerrilla Principal Quest Designer Tim Stobo and Quest Designer Blake Rebouche demonstrate one of the quests from the expansion called The Survivor. Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds takes place in the Cut, an icy wasteland where clans of the Banuk tribe known as ‘Weraks’ seek to prove their worth against the elements and the machines. At the start of the quest Aloy meets with the Chieftain of the White Teeth Werak, who informs her that two White Teeth hunters have gone missing. Aloy decides to investigate their fate – and in the process, crosses paths with a dangerous new machine…

For more on Guerrilla Games’ latest title, check out our Horizon Zero Dawn review. Here’s a snippet of what Paulmichael Contreras had to say about the open-world role-playing game:

Horizon Zero Dawn is an early contender for game of the year. Guerrilla Games has outdone themselves, in astounding fashion. This is a glorious game, the result of a team of masterful artisans who not only had a story that they wished to tell, but a world that was living inside of them which they wanted to share with us all. Now, we get to play inside their creation, and it is a breathtaking experience to behold. A massive, open world filled with equally massive, terrifying robots, juxtaposed against the beauty of the Earth, nature fighting back the darkness as it tends to do. Horizon Zero Dawn is the kind of game you play to get lost in, and can be enjoyed by players of all types. This could be the beginning of a stellar franchise, and there is something for everyone here. If you own a PS4, you owe it to yourself to give Horizon Zero Dawn a go.

The base game is out now, while the Horizon Zero Dawn DLC releases November 7, and the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition releases December 6, 2017.
