Newest Star Child Trailers Reveals Some Intriguing New Powers

Developers Playful showed off a brand new trailer today for the upcoming PSVR game Star Child during the pre-stream for Sony’s Paris Games Week conference.

In the trailer (above), we see Spectra being able to do what looks like a form of teleportation, or freakishly quick movement at the very least. Looking trapped for a moment, time quickly slows and a bright ray of purple streaks through the world before Spectra arrives at the other end of it. The trailer ends with her touching a piece of machinery and seemingly hacking into it before going into a trance like state.

According to the Director of Star Child and the founder and CEO of Playful, Star Child is a cinematic platforming adventure game that puts players in the shoes of Spectra, a traveler who crash lands on an alien planet. From there, you must find your way back and complete your mission. For more on the upcoming PSVR title, check out below:

Star Child is a cinematic platforming adventure that follows the journey of Spectra and her companion on an important mission to an alien planet. After becoming stranded, they uncover a hostile, overwhelming force that threatens to destroy everything. At a pivotal, startling moment, Spectra gains the ability to gradually take control of the world around her and fight back.
Star Child has no concrete information as a release, but the studio has said the game is “coming soon.” Make sure to stay tuned for any updates regarding the game or its release information.
