Iron Galaxy’s Attack on Titan-inspired Extinction will have players juggling time in order to save as many people as they can from an inevitable invasion of ogres. We’ve previously shared some trailers and a hands-on preview but if you’re still not sure what you’re supposed to be doing, then a new PlayStation Blog post explains a bit more about the upcoming title.
We’re told that playing as Avil, a lone warrior, we’ll have to make “split-second” decisions about who we’re going to save. The idea behind Extinction isn’t to stop the invasion altogether, but to save what you can. However, this isn’t as simple as it sounds.
The sandbox is expansive, the oversized ogres many, and they’re joined on the battlefield by hordes of regular-sized kin who more easily infiltrate towns and terrorise the populace. In addition, every mission will have numerous side objectives separate from the immediate need to save human life. On-screen icons and an upgradable mini-map buzz for attention, laying out the legwork needed to reach each emergency.
Players will face a variety of ogres, each of which will require a different strategy to take down. As we fight the monsters, the game will notify us of deaths we could have prevented!
