Koei Tecmo has published the first three previews of Dynasty Warriors 9 music at the official website. Although these previews are rather short with just around 40 seconds, you can get a taste of the game’s background music without any gameplay noises here.
As with recent Dynasty Warriors games, Dynasty Warriors 9 seems to employ a mix of orchestra and rock in its soundtrack. The first music Into The Era is a calming orchestral piece as you navigate through the game’s main menu.
Meanwhile, the battle music The Awakening strikes a good balance between rock and orchestra; you can also hear this music in the Tokyo Game Show 2017 trailer, as well as in the early gameplay trailer where you see Cao Cao launching a sneak attack on an unsuspecting army.
And the last music Slash It; Thrash All, which is used when storming castles, has a full-on rock style. You can listen to it when sieging Hua Xiong’s Sishui Gate, for example, so expect this music to liven up the action-packed siege battles.
In addition to that, Koei Tecmo has also published newly seen informal clothes for Xu Zhu, Ling Tong, Liu Bei, and Xiahou Ba. In Dynasty Warriors 9, every unique character will wear informal plain clothes when they are spotted loitering around a city and are not participating in any battles.
Dynasty Warriors 9 will be released worldwide in early 2018. Although it is a PlayStation 4-exclusive game in Japan, it will be also available to Xbox One and Steam in the West.
