As we mentioned yesterday, there will be a slew of new information coming out for the upcoming fighting title, Dragon Ball FighterZ. A lot of this information is is coming to us from Game Informer, as Dragon Ball FighterZ is this month’s feature in the magazine for this month. There’s one new piece of information that’s really interesting, though–the series’ famous Dragon Balls will be implemented in the fighting game.
This may not be the most shocking news to someone unfamiliar with the Dragon Ball series, but given the Dragon Balls’ magical wish granting powers, the way they’re implemented in FighterZ may be surprising. Arc System Works isn’t given us the details on what precisely this mechanic will do yet, but that the Dragon Balls “represent a system that isn’t found in any other fighting game, and is a brand new feature in the Dragon Ball series.”
Here’s a bit more information from Shoryuken:
Dragon Ball FighterZ will allow players to actually collect all seven Dragon Balls in a single match. By completing certain actions, players will be granted Dragon Balls during the match. As for what collecting all seven does, this hasn’t been revealed as of yet. However, producer Tomoko Hiroki did say that the Dragon Balls “represent a system that isn’t found in any other fighting game, and is a brand new feature in the Dragon Ball series.”
Dragon Ball FighterZ will release early 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Make sure to check our Dragon Ball FighterZ E3 preview!
