With a little less than three weeks to go until The Evil Within 2‘s release, plenty of new gameplay videos from the Tango Gameworks’ survival horror title have been published online. We’re sharing them here for our readers but if you’re worried about spoilers, then you might want to hold off.
First, we have 20 mins of new gameplay (with commentary) courtesy of Game Informer. Do note that this is PC footage but it gives you an idea of what to expect.
Next, we have some shorter videos brought to us by IGN from Tokyo Game Show 2017, showcasing the Giggling Guardian and Obscura boss fights.
Here’s how Bethesda previously described the Guardian:
A breathless chase down a hallway. Echoing laughter and the whirring of a sawblade dogging your steps. If you’re brave enough to look behind you, you’ll see the maelstrom of body parts that make up the monstrous creature known as Guardian.
As for Obscura, she’s one of antagonist Stefano Valentini‘s “greatest masterpieces,” as explained by Lead Concept Artist Keita Sakai.
The love and affection that Stefano has poured into the camera have become a manifestation of his power, breathing life into Obscura and giving it a will of its own. To Stefano, Obscura is a living work of art, in addition to being his beloved pet. If you see pictures scattered around Union, chances are that some of them were taken by Obscura herself.
The Evil Within 2 will release worldwide on October 13 (October 19 in Japan) for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
