The Ghost Recon Wildlands PvP beta launched today, but it hasn’t been without a few issues. As such, the game is undergoing some server maintenance. Thus, if the servers are down at the moment, that’s why.
Here’s their note to fans:
We’re aware of an issue on Xbox One that is causing some players to encounter a black screen while attempting matchmaking. This issue can not be fixed during the Open Beta but we already have a fix in place for the full launch of the mode. If you encounter this issue, try rebooting the application or your Xbox One and you should be able to find matches properly again. All players leaving the bugged session as quickly as possible will help avoid this issue for others as well.
In order to ensure that this bug affects the minimal amount of players possible, we will be doing 5 minute maintenances on the Xbox One servers every 2 hours. This is required to flush the number of corrupted sessions from our system, so matchmaking doesn’t get hung up on a bunch of bad sessions. We apologize for the inconvenience to Xbox One players and we greatly appreciate your support.
We’ve been having a lot of fun watching your livestreams on Twitch today, reading your conversations in the Discord channel, Reddit, and Forums. Thank you for being a part of this beta with us and helping us deliver the best possible experience for you at launch.
Sincerely,
Ghost Recon Wildlands Community Team
P.S. We realize the “Online Players” number on the matchmaking screen is a little misleading. That is the number of players who are waiting in line for matchmaking, not the total number of players in the game. The llama who was responsible for this has been sacked.
While the problem primarily impacts Xbox One owners, the PS4 servers are also going down for a brief period of time.
And after that we'll take down PS4 servers for another 15 minutes to do the same. We will post a notice once both are completed. Thank you.
