It came out last week that Dragon Ball FighterZ was adding Yamcha and Tien to the roster, but now players can finally see the two martial artists in action thanks to a new trailer. On top of that, the fighting game’s original story also gets detailed more as it shows off Android 21, an original character designed by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama.

Here’s how Bandai Namco describes the new characters:
Two new DRAGON BALL FighterZ playable characters are today revealed by BANDAINAMCO Entertainment Europe. Tien and Yamcha join the characters list of this long-awaited 2.5D fighting game developed by Arc System Works. More details about the story mode are also unveiled through new assets.
Another good news for the Dragon Ball fans is the reveal of the creator of Android 21 design. Akira Toriyama supervised her design! She is a mysterious scientist and well known for having the same knowledge as the person who have created the Androids: Dr. Gero. Her story is quite vague but she is connected to Android 16. What’s her story?

Since it is a Dragon Ball game, there’s also a big focus on mobility. By hitting the right trigger, players can use a special homing dash that’ll avoid Ki attacks. That’s not all, as they can also do a warp attack called Vanish that has players teleport behind their opponent and land an attack. That costs a guage of energy, though, so it’s important that these special moves are used in moderation.
The fighting in Dragon Ball FighterZ is just as fun as it looks. The combat is instantly accessible to anyone that has played a fighting game, but there’s enough unique systems in play that competitive players will have to spend plenty of time learning the ins and outs. Going off of Arc System Works’ track record, this isn’t a game that Dragon Ball fans will want to miss out on.
Dragon Ball FighterZ will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in February 2018.
