God of War PS4

God of War Will Be The “Most Brutal” in the Series, Says Sony

At GameStop Expo 2017 this weekend, Asad Qizilbash, Sony Interactive Entertainment America’s Head of Software Marketing, sat down with Kinda Funny Games and discussed God of War, which is coming to PlayStation 4 in early 2018.

After mentioning that “everyone’s excited about where God of War’s going,” and how this is kind of almost a reboot, Qizilbash discussed the combat:

The combat has also changed… they’ve got the same combat guys who were on the initial God of War. Before, it was one versus many… it’s more one versus one, one versus two [this time around]. It’s more visceral. You’re going to feel every punch thrown. Every axe slash.

Qizilbash later added that the team at Sony Santa Monica says “this is going to be the most brutal God of War you’ve played.”

Towards the end of the interview, Qizilbash said, “We’ve got a phenomenal team working on this, so that just gives you so much confidence… I think people are really going to be blown away.”

Last month, Director Cory Barlog suggested that there will be more God of War games to come. “And with this game, I think people know that we’re going to be here for a while,” he said. “Me personally, I know I’ve got a couple more of these in me.”
