Pyre PS4 Pro Support Is 4K/60fps, Trophies Revealed

Party-based RPG Pyre from Supergiant Games (Bastion, Transistor) launches tomorrow for PlayStation 4 and PC, and it will have full 4K/60fps PS4 Pro support and a Platinum Trophy.

As Creative Director Greg Kasavin explained on the PlayStation Blog, “Pyre runs natively in 4K on PS4 Pro, which is a first for us. You’ll experience the game running at an ever-glorious 60 frames-per-second, in that absurdly high resolution that you have to see running on a 4K display to truly appreciate.”

Looking at the Trophies, there’s 51 in total spread across the campaign and versus mode (potential story spoilers ahead):

Herald of the Scribes – Earn all other available trophies in Pyre.

Gold

Scribes’ Champion – Prevail in a Rite with 12 Titan Stars active (Campaign)

True Freedom – Complete your quest for freedom (Campaign)

Gather the Band – Find an exile for each of the different masks (Campaign)

Master of the Rites – Achieve Rank 5 with any exile (Campaign)

Pyre is priced at $19.99 USD, but if you pre-order through the PlayStation Store (North America, Europe) before launch tomorrow, you can save 10%.

However, Kasavin, speaking as someone who reviewed games for 12 years before making them, suggested waiting for the reviews before putting your money down:

I would just as soon encourage you to wait and see what folks have to say (especially if that 10% off doesn’t matter much to you). I myself don’t know what they will say just yet, but I do know this: They’ve said kind things about Bastion and Transistor, the last two games I’ve worked on. And, all of us at Supergiant who made those two games stuck together and pushed ourselves to the limits to make this one, in the spirit of our first two. So, I’m confident that, especially if you enjoyed our first two games, you’ll find something to love in this one. But you shouldn’t have to take my word for it. Until Tuesday!!
