In Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones, Jaime Lannister was speaking with his sister Cersei and said, “We’re the last of us.” This didn’t go unnoticed by Naughty Dog Creative Director and Writer Neil Druckmann, who posted the scene on Twitter (above).
According to WCCFTech and NeoGAF user FantasticMrFoxdie, Game of Thrones showrunner David Benioff said in the end of episode director’s video that, because of the similarities between Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Joel, they decided to include the line.
“You know, Ellie, we really are The Last of Us” spawned a 42-page thread on NeoGAF where members make up quotes from game titles as if they were actually in the game. With the Game of Thrones episode inclusion, the thread has received many new posts.
