PS4 Version of Kingdom Hearts II Fixed in Latest Patch

Earlier this year, Square Enix released Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix for PlayStation 4. This collection was a perfect fit for players looking to get into the series before Kingdom Hearts III finally releases, but it ended up bringing some new issues into old games. The HD version of Kingdom Hearts II was impacted the most, as teleportation issues were added in the most recent patch. That has all been fixed in version 1.04 of the game.

Here’s the full list of updates for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix version 1.04 via Gematsu:

  • Fixed enemy / ally teleportation issue in Kingdom Hearts II.
  • Adjusted magnetic force of commands such as Magnet in Kingdom Hearts II.
  • Fixed various other issues.

It’s always unfortunate when a patch ends up adding additional issues, but such is the way of video game development. It’s good to see that Square Enix ended up fixing these issues. With this update now live, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix can truly be called the ultimate version of these beloved titles.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix is available now exclusively on PS4. It’s a collection of remasters that were originally made for PlayStation 3, and feature all of the main Kingdom Hearts games up until 2.8 HD: Final Chapter Prologue. In our PS3 review of 2.5 Remix, reviewer Chandler Wood said that it was “money well spent to fans of the series. If you haven’t played the first collection, you’ll find yourself adrift, lost in a plot that confuses even some of the most die hard fans. However, if you’ve already been out with Sora and friends, it’s worth giving your PS4 a rest and using that PS3 to get 60+ hours of Kingdom Hearts back into your life, even if it does feel a little last gen.”
