YouTube channel NoClip has published the first part of its documentary on the development, fall, resurrection, and success of Final Fantasy XIV.
Final Fantasy XIV was initially released in 2010 but became a failure due to a plethora of issues. Square Enix would then remake the game and relaunch it as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in 2013. Today, FFXIV:ARR is the second most subscribed MMORPG in the world.
The first part, entitled “One Point O,” of the three-part series covers the story of how Final Fantasy XI inspired the 1.0 version of Final Fantasy XIV. It also covers the failure of FFXIV and how Square Enix and the development team reacted to it.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is currently available on the PlayStation 4 and other platforms.
