After hitting 60 million shipped at the end of March, Sony has announced that more than 60.4 million PlayStation 4 systems have been sold-through to consumers worldwide as of June 11, 2017.
Additionally, PS4 software sales through retail stores and the PlayStation Store have surpassed 487.8 million copies worldwide as of June 11.
Sony also revealed that, as of March 31, 2017, there were more than 70 million monthly active users, 26.4 million paid PlayStation Plus subscribers, and active PS4 users spent more than 600 million hours in total per week on the system.
Sony Interactive Entertainment President Andrew House talked about how the PS4 has the “industry’s best lineup of exclusive and partner titles” coming this year:
We are very grateful for our fans and partners around the globe who have continued to support PS4. The PS4 platform is in its prime, with the industry’s best lineup of exclusive and partner titles slated to release this year, taking full advantage of the power of the PS4 system. We are committed to further expanding our overall PS4 ecosystem, by broadening the PlayStation VR content portfolio, as well as enriching our network services along with our ground-breaking software lineup. We remain steadfast in bringing the best entertainment experience to users worldwide and making PS4 the best place to play.
Since there were more than 50 million PS4s sold as of December 6 last year, and PS4 Pro represents 20% of all PS4 sales since launch in November, we can assume that the PS4 Pro has sold at least two million units so far.
By March 31, 2018, Sony expects PS4 shipments to hit 78 million.
