The PlayStation Plus exclusive Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 demo for PlayStation 4 is now live in North America through the PlayStation Store, weighing in at 3.9GB. If you live in Europe, Aksys Games said, “Oh, and for EU folks, we don’t have answers for you, sadly. That’s @PQubeGames territory and I’m not brave enough to cross them.”
According to early players, you have to be connected to the PlayStation Network to play the demo, despite the All Aksys Twitter account previously saying it would be playable offline. In response, All Aksys said, “We’ve been receiving reports that the Rev2 demo is not working as we had previously lead to believe regarding offline functionality. We’ll be looking into the situation and seeing if anything is possible at this time. Please stay tuned.”
Here’s what to expect from the demo:
- Full Featured Preview – Two new characters, Baiken and Answer are playable from the get-go! New stages, moves and motions are just the beginning of new content to explore in this demo!
- Get Schooled On How To Rock – New to the Guilty Gear series or fighting games in general? Veterans and beginners alike will enjoy this in-depth and fun exploration of Guilty Gear’s deep system mechanics.
- Rock Alone or With A Friend – Play alone or duke it out with a friend with any of the 25 characters and their re-balanced abilities in Versus Mode and then shake off the salt by spending countless hours perfecting your combos in Training Mode.
Judging by the wording on the PlayStation Store listing, it appears as though the demo will only be available until May 24.
Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 releases on May 26 for PS4 and PS3. There will be a standalone PS4 version for $39.99 USD, while PS4 and PS3 owners of Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator can buy a digital upgrade for $19.99 USD.
