Video game historian Liam Robertson, who is known for his work on Did You Know Gaming? and Unseen 64 alongside some accurate BioWare-related leaks in the past, seems to have some insider info on the studio’s upcoming IP.
In his Patreon podcast that’s only available to his backers (thanks, IBTimes), he said that the upcoming game is set to debut at E3 2017, and will be “sort of Destiny-style” that “takes some elements from The Division” and “has like MMO elements.”
“Someone described it as a ‘semi-MMO,'” he explained. “I don’t know much more than that… it is a huge scale project, perhaps the biggest BioWare has ever done. It’s bigger than Mass Effect Andromeda, considerably so. It will have co-op.”
For now, the game is called Dylan, which may be a code name. Apparently, that could be the main character who is “sort of like gorgeous Adonis.” There’s reportedly a female lead as well.
Elsewhere, Robertson reveals that BioWare Austin is working “exclusively” on Star Wars games for an indefinite period of time. “What they’re currently working on right now – and I have this on good authority – is a sort of remake/revival of Knights of the Old Republic,” he said.
I guess we’ll find out at E3 if any of the reports are true!
