While the team at Stoic are likely hard at work creating The Banner Saga 3, which we last heard about back in January, they’ve still found the time to magic up a content drop for The Banner Saga 2. It’s the “Survival Mode” DLC that’s been available on the PC version since June of last year. It’s now available on PS4 and Xbox One, priced at $4.99.
Here are the full details of what this generically named, but actually pretty interesting, DLC comprises of:
Survival Mode tests your tactical mettle in 40 escalating battles! Assemble six heroes from a selection of your favorite Banner Saga characters and lead them in battle against waves of enemies. Earn Renown to equip new items and to unlock heroes to replace those who fall in battle. How long will you survive and how will you rank against others in the leaderboards? Survival Mode Features: Stay alive through as many battles as possible in this challenging combat game mode. Choose 6 heroes from over 40 of your favorite characters. Recruit more heroes with renown as you progress. Permadeath – Heroes who fall in battle are lost forever but can be given a Viking Funeral to regain renown so you can recruit new heroes to take their place. Play in Normal or Hard difficulty modes and see how you rank in the leaderboards against your friends.
