Developer Red Barrels announced today that Outlast 2 is releasing digitally on April 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, priced at $29.99 USD. April 25 will also see the release of Outlast Trinity, which is a physical collection of Outlast, the Whistleblower DLC for Outlast, and Outlast 2 for PS4 and Xbox One that costs $39.99 USD.

Answering some questions on Twitter, Red Barrels said, “Outlast 2 will not be available physically as a standalone game, only digitally.” Outlast Trinity, meanwhile, “is physical-only.”

Here’s the description for Outlast 2:

The sequel to the original critically acclaimed game, Outlast 2 is a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets. Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife Lynn, must take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. As the two follow a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe, the investigation leads them miles into the Arizona desert to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.

Red Barrels doesn’t have any plans for Outlast 2 DLC right now, and when asked about PlayStation VR support, they replied, “If/when we approach VR we want to do so with a project that is built for the technology. We’ll see what happens in the future.”
