Indie game publisher PLAYDIUS has officially announced its latest game entitled AWAY: Journey to the Unexpected, a new game by The Next Penelope creator Aurelien Regard and Rayman level designer Jim Gennisson.
The game, which is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 4 sometime this year, is a first-person, anime-inspired rogue-like that features 2D characters residing in a fully 3D world. Players will be available to recruit new playable characters who you’ll need to convince to join you by using the right words.
AWAY is a colorful first person adventure game that combines action and negotiation mixed in a rogue-lite environment!
Progress through the story and, level by level, choose your path and recruit allies.
All the strange characters you will meet in-game will be playable in first person, and it will be up to you to find the right words to convince them to join your team!
Not much else I known about the game but a teaser released by GameSpot reveals that one of the protagonist’s main weapons is a stick. And it also looks you’ll be able to quickly switch between the game’s playable characters.
