Offering a bit of a status update on Final Fantasy VII Remake in the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation (translated by Gematsu), Producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that voice recording for the main story is nearly complete:
A remake of Final Fantasy VII required substantial preparedness. The voice actors have almost finished voice recording of the main story. Fans may have the image of the Cloud from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, but since this is the ‘prime’ Cloud from before Advent Children, the performance may feel fresh.
Kitase didn’t say if he was talking about the first part of the remake, or the entire multi-part release, when it comes to the voice recording.
Elsewhere in the interview, Kitase said he’d “leave the meaning of the Sephiroth that doesn’t exist in the original (the black wing?) to everyone’s imagination.”
Discussing the new screenshot released over the weekend (above), Director Tetsuya Nomura said the “menus are not yet final.” As for the combat screenshot, Nomura said, “I’ve put a lot of attention into the combat system, and it’s going to happen without interruption.”
