Ys Origin for PS Vita Delayed to May 30, PS4 Version Still Set for February 21

Given a February 21 release date at PlayStation Experience 2016, Ys Origin for PlayStation Vita has been delayed to May 30, developer DotEmu announced today. The PlayStation 4 version is still set for February 21. Both versions will be available digitally.

Discussing the PS Vita version’s delay, DotEmu’s Jessica Iragne said, “We’re going to invest more time on this version to give you the most enjoyable experience. That’s why we’ve decided to change the release date of the PS Vita version to May 30… thanks for your patience – the game is coming soon! We’re 100% focused on it.”

First released on PC in 2006, Ys Origin is an action RPG where you choose between heroes Yunica and Hugo, who each have their own attributes and stories. In the new trailer today, DotEmu gives you a look at the heroes and some gameplay.

For the updated release on PlayStation, DotEmu has optimized the visuals and effects, improved the UI and menus, and added online leaderboards, Trophies, and new languages (French, Italian, German, and Spanish join Japanese and English).

Back in December, Iragne said, “We are also really enthusiastic to bring this classic to PS4 and PS Vita and would love to bring other Ys games in the future!”
