Gal Gun: Double Peace Worldwide Sales Top 100k, International Reception Exceeds Expectations

When Inti Creates decided to localize Gal Gun: Double Peace for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita owners outside of Japan, it didn’t expect six-digit sales numbers. However, the game ended up surprising the developer, who has just announced that its worldwide sales have topped 100,000 units sold.

In a blog on its website, Producer and Localization Director Matt Papa revealed how his boss initially downplayed the idea of an international release for Double Peace because Inti wasn’t confident that it’d sell. However, he continued to convince his bosses and used Twitter to gauge user response by simply asking people if they wanted the game localized or not.

“My dear, sweet Internet. Suffice to say, you did not disappoint,” he wrote. Having convinced Inti, Papa helped bring the project to life, which he says received a “fantastic” response upon release. “The atmosphere surrounding the game has been incredibly positive, and fans from around the world have come out in greater numbers than we ever could have anticipated,” he continued.

A Gal Gun VR title is currently in development and Papa has promised to help bring it to the West.
