Arc System Works has announced Double Dragon IV for a January 30, 2017 release on the PlayStation 4 and PC.
Details are still scant at this time but according to Gematsu, the upcoming title will use the familiar 80s visual style and will come with various new features. All modes are playable by two players simultaneously, and the publication reports that the story “picks up after the elimination of the the Shadow Warriors in Double Dragon II.”
Over on its website, Arc System Works reveals that Takaomi Kaneko will serve as Producer, Yoshihisa Kishimoto will be directing, and Kei Oyama will serve as Programmer. Additionally, Character Designer is Kei Oyama and Composer is Kazunaka Yamane. All five worked on the arcade version of Double Dragon.
In Japan, Double Dragon IV will cost 800 Yen. Prices for the West have yet to be announced. We’ll update our readers when we have more info but in the meantime, you can check out a teaser trailer above.
