Pinball FX2 VR, The Walking Dead Pinball Launch on November 29 for PSVR

Calling it the “most immersive pinball experience around,” Zen Studios announced today that Pinball FX2 VR and the Season One Expansion pack will be available on November 29 for PlayStation VR in North America and Europe. Additionally, The Walking Dead Pinball will be available at launch for Pinball FX2 VR.

“Replicating the atmosphere of real-life pinball machines in a virtual play space, Pinball FX2 VR features gameplay and effects that you simply cannot recreate on a physical machine, where animated toys spring to life on stunningly active table environments with spectacular depth,” Zen Studios said. “Additionally, the game’s scoreboards will track your Pro Score, Team Score, table stats, and more to let you compete against players from all over the world!”

Here’s what you’ll find in each release:

Pinball FX2 VR – $14.99 USD

  • Includes Mars, Secrets of the Deep, and Epic Quest

Pinball FX2 VR: Season One Expansion – $24.99 USD

  • Adds CastleStorm, Wild West Rampage, Paranormal, BioLab, and Earth Defense to the base game.

The Walking Dead Pinball for Pinball FX2 VR – $6.99 USD

  • Brings the complete experience of the 2014 table into VR: You’ll experience choice-driven gameplay along with original story dialogue from the award-winning cast, in scenarios that include choosing who to save and who to leave behind in a walker attack, solving problems and keeping up morale within the group, searching for food and supplies, acquiring important tools, and navigating through the herd amidst an oncoming walker breach. As the action unfolds, walkers bear down on you and you fight your way through all five of the table’s episodes to a thrillingly climactic wizard mode. The undead will be so close you can practically smell them!

Expect more content for Pinball FX2 VR “soon.”

Pinball FX2 VR doesn’t support PlayStation Move controllers.

Asked if The Walking Dead Pinball for PSVR includes cross-buy, Zen Studios Community Manager Bobby Hopper said, “Unfortunately you would have to purchase again since this is a whole new product – but this is a really awesome way to play these tables, you really have to see for yourself!”

As for why it doesn’t carry the Zen Pinball 2 name, Hopper said, “We developed both Zen Pinball and Pinball FX. Same games, different titles” and “the game is functionally identical across VR platforms so we’re just using the one name to make it easier.”
