Update: Numerous reports have popped up that the new Skyrim Special Edition update (listed as 1.03 on PS4 and Xbox One) is also causing crashing issues on consoles. Yesterday, Bethesda said on their forums, “We’re looking into these crash reports. Thank you for the feedback. We will let you guys know as soon as possible.”
Original Story:Released yesterday on PC, Skyrim Special Edition update 1.1 is now available to download on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Bethesda has revealed. As the patch notes outline, you’ll find improved performance, a fix for saves being marked as Modded, a fix for an issue with interface elements on certain displays, and more:
General performance and optimization improvements
Fixed rare issue with NPCs not appearing in proper locations
Fixed an issue with interface elements not appearing correctly on certain displays (PS4 and Xbox One)
Fixed issue with saves erroneously being marked as Modded, even though no mods are active
Updated some sound files to not use compression
After downloading and installing the update, your version number on PS4 should be 1.1.5.0. You can find this by pausing the game, going to the System tab, and checking the lower-left corner.
A download size wasn’t given for the console update today, but it was 945MB on PC. Many PC players are also reporting numerous crashing issues after installing update 1.1, though it remains to be seen if that will happen on consoles as well.
