Blizzard Co-Founder Rejoins Company After 12 Years, Working on “Cool New Stuff”

Allen Adham, who co-founded Blizzard Entertainment with Frank Pearce and Michael Morhaime in 1991, has rejoined the company after twelve years. His return was announced during yesterday’s keynote at BlizzCon 2016. Adham left Blizzard to pursue a career in finance and will now take on the role of Senior Vice President.

In an interview with Polygon, Adham admitted that leaving the Overwatch and Diablo developer was a mistake.

I’m free to say it now. In hindsight, leaving Blizzard was probably the biggest mistake I made in my life. What I should have done was just take a sabbatical. I’ve been eager to come back for a decade now.

Things have changed quite a bit for Blizzard in these 12 years. Morhaime says that Adham’s job now revolves around ensuring that “new projects happen.” When quizzed about the new projects, Adham was understandably mum but did say that Blizzard is working on “a bunch of cool new stuff.”
