Level-5 has kept quiet about Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom since it was announced for PlayStation 4 at PlayStation Experience 2015, but that silence has partially been broken, as company President and CEO Akihiro Hino spoke with Vandal recently.
While Hino didn’t go in-depth about Ni no Kuni II in the interview, he did reveal that one of the many new features over Wrath of the White Witch will be a system focused on creating a kingdom:
There will be many new features. From the fact alone that we moved from PlayStation 3 to PlayStation 4, it will not be a simple RPG, and will introduce a new system focused on creating a kingdom. So yes, there will be many differences.
In the above video following the original announcement, Hino talked about how Ni no Kuni II compares to the first game:
Our love for Ni no Kuni inspired us to create a sequel, so we did. I can say that the sequel is a huge improvement to the first. We’re taking on a lot more challenges than before, so we can bring new features to fruition. The sequel fulfills the ambitions we had after the first game’s completion. You can expect deeper stories, rich in dramatic sequences you wouldn’t have expected from the first game. The story is about a young boy’s journey to become King, through which he experiences many hardships, making both friends and enemies along the way. He’ll receive help and provide even more, all contributing to his growth as a person and as a King. We’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished in this story.
Ni no Kuni II’s release date is currently TBD.
Do you think we’ll see more of Ni no Kuni II at PSX 2016 in December?
