Uncharted Movie Adds Stranger Things’ Shawn Levy as Director

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Uncharted movie from Sony is back on track, with Shawn Levy now set to direct. Levy, who has directed the Night at the Museum movies and episodes of Stranger Things, becomes the latest helmer on the project, following departures from Seth Gordon, David O. Russell, and Neil Burger.

Joe Carnahan, who appears to have finished his rewrite of the script, was thinking about directing the Uncharted movie, but he’s now doing the third Bad Boys film, Bad Boys for Life.

As Deadline adds, the Uncharted movie is on the fast track and Levy will begin casting while directing episodes of Stranger Things’ upcoming season.

The Uncharted movie was previously scheduled for June 30, 2017, but has since been removed from Sony’s schedule. When a new date is announced, we’ll let you know.
