The PlayStation VR headset is a revolutionary device, making virtual reality gaming mainstream. It allows immersion unlike anything we’ve seen before, with game worlds surrounding players on all sides. We loved it in our review, and can’t say we’re surprised to see a huge demand for it.
Of course, before fully investing oneself in this new tech, it’s wise for players to first test it out and see if it’s right for them. Happily, for those of us in the UK, we can head to our local GAME retailer and give the device a go. Not so happily, in order to actually wear the headset and try it out, we’ll have to hand over some cash.
For 5 minutes of PlayStation VR action, GAME is charging £5 for 10 minutes. If you want to triple the time allowed, you’ll have to triple the price as well – £15 for 30 minutes. It is worth noting that, if you do decide to buy PSVR after the demo, you’ll have the trial cost refunded.
For these premium prices, the least we’d expect is a premium service, and it seems that staff will be on hand to assist with “cleaning supplies, a standby emergency evacuation bag, a steady hand and emotional support.”
What do you make of this? Do you think people should be paying to trial PlayStation VR? Let us know in the comments.
