Rise of the Tomb Raider Update 1.04 Adds PS4 Pro Support, Players Report Crashes

Earlier today, Rise of the Tomb Raider update 1.04 released for PlayStation 4, weighing in at 446MB and adding PS4 Pro support. After installing the update though, many users began experiencing numerous crashes (error code CE-34878-0), some as early as the start screen.

If you’ve already downloaded and installed update 1.04, the good news is that disconnecting your PS4 from the network (in Network Settings) appears to resolve the issues. It remains to be seen if the crashing is because of the patch, or if it’s due to the current PSN issues today. Either way, you’re better off waiting to download update 1.04.

Here’s everything included in Rise of the Tomb Raider update 1.04, according to the PS4’s Update History:

  • Improvements to 4K image quality and frame-rate for PS4 Pro
  • Reduced input latency
  • A variety of bug fixes and improved stability

Earlier this month, the day one updates for Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration on PS4 added PlayStation VR support and other improvements.

Are you experiencing issues with Rise of the Tomb Raider?
