Yesterday on Twitter, developer Respawn announced that Titanfall 2 has gone gold, meaning development is complete and the game is ready to be put on discs. If you’re worried that Titanfall 2 might have a big day one patch to fix any issues discovered between now and launch on October 28, Producer Drew McCoy said you don’t have to worry about a 10GB download on day one:
No game ever ships without tons of people putting in insane amounts of time and effort towards the end. Lots of people have already had some time “on call” (not in the office, but need to be able to come in and fix any show-stopper bugs if needed), but there’s a bunch of us that have been cranking nonstop to get the game on disc. End in sight, though! Prep for launch day is looking good, that tech test really helped get our backend services ready. No 10GB day one patch here.
Additionally, Respawn released a single-player cinematic trailer today for Titanfall 2, which you can watch above. Here’s what you need to know about the campaign:
In the single player campaign, players will experience the story and relationship between Titan BT-7274 and 3rd Class Rifleman Jack Cooper, as they explore the mysterious planet of Typhon and discover the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation’s (IMC) intentions. BT is the first Titan built by the Militia to battle the IMC, who’s capable of using any Titan loadout and embodies the Militia’s Culture of teamwork, craftsmanship and looking out for each other. Jack Cooper is a grunt with aspirations of becoming a pilot, whom Militia Captain Tai Lastimosa takes under his wing and trains in secret. When an investigation of a research facility on the IMC controlled planet of Typhon goes wrong, Lastimosa is killed in action, there is no other option but for the two to link up and work together to finish the mission BT and Lastimosa started. The more BT and Jack work together, the stronger the bond between Pilot and Titan becomes.
