Street Fighter V’s Urien Gets a Character Introduction Series Video

When the next Street Fighter V update goes live on September 22, it will add Urien, who can be purchased with Fight Money or real money through the PlayStation Store or Steam. To learn more about the new fighter, check out Urien’s Character Introduction Series video from Capcom above.

Capcom also answered some questions about the Capcom Pro Tour DLC that was announced at EVO. As Neidel Crisan, Director of Digital Media & eSports, explained, more than 80% of all DLC revenue is put towards the Capcom Pro Tour:

A minimum of 30% of the revenue will go to the Capcom Cup 2016 prize pool, and an additional 50% of the revenue is invested into Capcom Pro Tour production. That means that Capcom contributes more than 80% of all CPT DLC revenue directly to support Capcom Pro Tour initiatives.

Our goal is to have an impressive prize pool for Capcom Cup 2016 — the biggest in fighting game history — and we want our fans to know they had a part in helping us achieve that once we reach that milestone later this year.

We will be providing updates throughout the rest of the season, so you all know what sort of number we are targeting for Capcom Cup 2016 and next year you will see tangible benefits from your investment materializing in the scene through increased production values and additional support for tournament organizers.

Keep in mind, we contribute a portion of our sponsorship, ad revenue, and merchandise sales into the Capcom Pro Tour and Capcom Cup prize pool as well.

Priced at $25 on PlayStation 4 for the full bundle of three costumes, Ring of Destiny stage, CPT themed color option for all 22 characters, and Capcom Cup 2016 and Capcom Pro Tour 2016 titles, sales of the DLC have helped to increase the Capcom Cup 2016 prize pool by more than $90,000. The DLC (which can be purchased separately in-game) will be available until the end of November, just before Capcom Cup 2016.

As for how they arrived at the current price point for the DLC, Capcom feels it’s “in line with our vision of investing in the community.” They didn’t create the content with the intention of making large profits, and they believe “this content is some of the best in Street Fighter V with some of the most high-quality and detailed costumes in the game.” It also allows them to promote major events in-game, which is something they’ve never done before with Street Fighter.
