While one of the biggest draws of sports games are the career modes where we play our way from rookie to sports legend, part of the fun is trying to make the character your own, right? And what better way to do that than to put in your own face in your created player! Thanks to smartphones, we’ll now be able to do that with NBA 2K17!
In a press release, 2K has announced that the MyNBA2K17 app, which will launch this September 8, will debut the “all-new face simulation technology.” Listed below are some of the features of the app as well.
- Ability to earn Virtual Currency daily for NBA 2K17
- Pick and win mini-games leveraging live NBA game stats
- Shop for console items while on-the-go from an expanded MyPLAYER Store
- Buy and sell cards on the Auction House
- Watch 2KTV anytime on your mobile device
Additionally, 2K has announced that 2016 NBA Rookie of the Year Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves will star as the app’s icon cover athlete. Hey, it might not be as prestigious as being the cover athlete of the game, but it’s a start! And not bad for a rookie, no? I gather, NBA 2K17 players should brace themselves for images of non-faces (read: dicks) in online games soon.
The MyNBA2K17 app will be available for iOS and Android for free this September, while NBA 2K17 will be out on September 20.
