Evolve Countdown Clock Teases Something for Tomorrow

Remember Evolve? That multiplayer game from Left 4 Dead developer known as Turtle Rock Studios? It seems something significant is set to happen very, very soon as the game’s website now has a countdown timer that’s set to expire in about 17 hours at the time of this writing.

Aside from seeing the “#StageUp” hashtag, nothing else is known about this particular announcement. Is it for a new expansion? Maybe the game going free-to-play? Who knows at this point. Building up to this announcement, Turtle Rock co-founder Phil Robb states that it’s the game’s “biggest update ever.”

Over on the PC front, it seems Evolve has been pulled from Steam which is, I”m assuming, connected to tomorrow’s reveal.

What do you think is happening to Evolve? We’ll be sure to give you an update once we know more details. For those curious, we’ve reported earlier this year that Turtle Rock is working on a new, unannounced IP which it describes as “cutting edge.” Unless the studio is big enough to develop two AAA games at the same time, don’t expect a sequel announcement tomorrow. And given Robb’s tweet, it does seem to be a massive game update more than anything.
