At MomoCon today, Aksys Games announced that BlazBlue: Central Fiction is coming to North America in winter 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 through retail and digital stores. According to Amazon, it will be $59.99 USD on PS4 and $49.99 USD on PS3.
Along with a new story and tons of characters (new and old), BlazBlue: Central Fiction adds two new game mechanics: Exceed Accel and Active Flow. “Exceed Accel is activated during an Overdrive and unleashes a chaotic attack that deals massive damage to the opponent,” Aksys Games explains. “Active Flow utilizes the Heat Gauge and once activated, boosts your attack power as well as your Exceed Accel damage.”
Amazon’s listing for Central Fiction shows that there’s a 40+ hour story with fully animated cut-scenes, 30+ characters on the roster, and 60+ stages to fight on. “New locales and familiar stomping grounds are all rendered in 3D and offer a unique contrast to the intricately hand-drawn 2D fighter sprites,” Aksys says.
When asked about a European release for BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Aksys said, “Europe has a different publisher for BlazBlue titles.”
