Following reports last week that the frame-rate of Fallout 4’s Far Harbor on PlayStation 4 regularly dips below 20fps, Bethesda said they’re working on improvements:
We made optimizations based on the Far Harbor beta feedback, but understand some people are experiencing issues. We are actively working on more improvements.
Destructoid guessed that the performance issues come from the fog covering the island, and Bethesda’s Pete Hines confirmed the fog is causing issues:
“We found some areas in beta where this happens and fixed. There are new areas players are finding. We will fix.”
“We are working on a fix. Some places where fog is causing issues we hadn’t seen in beta.”
As for the future of Fallout 4 DLC past Far Harbor, Hines said, “We said we have plans for more beyond the first three we had planned. Haven’t given details.”
Mods come to PS4 next month, and invites to the Xbox One closed beta went out earlier today.
