Four Sided Fantasy Coming to PS4 in Summer 2016

A puzzle-platformer from Ludo Land, Four Sided Fantasy is coming to PlayStation 4 in summer 2016.

Starring a man and women who journey through four seasons, constantly separated by the confines of the screen, Four Sided Fantasy sees you ‘wrapping’ from one side of the screen to the other in order to finish puzzles. Saying the feature is similar to what you see in Pac-Man, developer Logan Fieth adds that you can turn it on whenever you want.

Fieth continued:

We’re also doing something that I’ve never seen a 2D platformer do. The game draws inspiration from film — specifically films like Upstream Color and Spring Breakers — to use stylish editing to create a dream-like feeling.

In Four Sided Fantasy, to move from scene to scene, the game uses filmic transitions. So that means foreground wipes, dissolve fades, jump cuts, and more are all present in the game.

A gameplay trailer is coming soon, but for now, you can check out the teaser trailer for a look at the environments.

Addressing the fact that the PlayStation Vita version wasn’t mentioned, Fieth said, “Unfortunately we had a change of plans (and publisher), which means that currently we can only confirm the PS4 and PC versions of the game. We’re not ruling it out yet, though!”

Curve Digital was originally supposed to publish Four Sided Fantasy, but now Serenity Forge is handling those duties. “Curve Digital are great people, and we’re still friends with them, we just found that working with Serenity Forge would be the best plan.” Fieth explained.
