In a new update to the official website, NIS America has announced that Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is releasing on September 13 in North America and September 16 in Europe for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC.
A single-player visual novel that’s fully voiced by the original Japanese anime voice actors, Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness takes place during the first season of the anime series, adding new characters and new plotlines.
NIS America’s Chris King adds:
You choose between two new playable characters; Nadeshiko Kugatachi, a calm and serious Inspector whose memories were wiped away, or Takuma Tsurugi, a hot-headed Enforcer who is searching for his missing childhood friend. As you proceed through the game, you are given different cases and must decide on the best course of action for each given situation. Some decisions may lead you towards the right path, and some may lead you closer to…something else. Be warned – every choice you make has its own repercussions and could end the game sooner than expected.
On top of the $39.99 USD (PS Vita)/$49.99 USD (PS4) standard edition, a $69.99 USD (PSV)/$79.99 USD (PS4) Limited Edition for Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness is also available, featuring the following:
- PSYCHO-PASS: Mandatory Happiness for PS4 or PS Vita
- Full-color, 72-page deluxe softcover art book (7″x10″)
- Original soundtrack with jewel case
- 3 Pencil boards (7″x10″)
- Microfiber cloth (6″x6″)
- Collector’s box (Includes all the above)
King notes that NIS America is “still early in the localization process,” so more details won’t arrive until closer to September.
