The first Chinese developed PlayStation 4 game to release in Western markets, KOI from developer Dotoyou will be available in North America on April 19, publisher Oasis Games announced today. Priced at $9.99 USD, PlayStation Plus members will be able to grab it for $7.99 during launch week.
Previously released on mobile platforms, KOI is an award-winning exploration adventure game following the quest of a koi fish through an ever-evolving lotus pond, Oasis Games explains:
KOI takes players on a seemingly small journey with deeper meaning. Players guide the koi through the murky waters tainted by mankind by solving puzzles, discovering enchanting melodies hidden within deadened twigs and other zen-like missions to bring light back to the darkened, polluted waters. This artfully depicted world conveys a wonderfully imaginative experience with an entrancing soundtrack by popular Chinese artist, Zeta.
KOI is also coming to Europe, but a release date wasn’t given.
Oasis Games previously revealed that KOI isn’t planned for PlayStation Vita right now and, although it debuted as a mobile game, the developers have “made upgrades since there are so many more capabilities for PS4 than mobile devices.”
