PSN Maintenance Scheduled for April 11, 2016

On Monday, April 11, the PlayStation Network will be undergoing some scheduled maintenance, which is expected to last for about two hours.

Sony announced the maintenance on their PSN Status Page, but didn’t specify a timezone:

Routine maintenance and improvements for PlayStation Network will be performed for approximately 2 hours on 04/11/2016, 9:30 PM to 04/11/2016, 11:30 PM .

Based on past experiences, the maintenance will run from 9:30pm PT until 11:30pm PT, which means it will run from 12:30am ET until 2:30am ET.

During the maintenance, you’ll still be able to play games and use most applications, but you won’t be able to access Account Management, PlayStation Video, or the PlayStation Store. If you haven’t done so already, Sony recommends activating your PlayStation 4 as your primary console:

Anyone who already has an account can still sign in to their PlayStation Network profile, play games, and use most applications while this maintenance is carried out. You will not be able to access Account Management, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Store during this maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We recommend activating your PS4 as your primary console before maintenance begins so you can continue to play most games and use 3rd party services during maintenance. To activate your console, sign in to your PlayStation Network profile and select [Settings] > [PlayStation™Network/Account Management] > [Activate as Your Primary PS4] > [Activate]. You only need to do this once.

We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.

If you missed it, Sony announced the April 2016 PlayStation Plus free games yesterday and they include Dead Star, Zombi, I Am Alive, and more. They all go live on April 5.
