Loved the Metro video game franchise? In case you didn’t know, it was originally based on a novel by author Dmitry Glukhovsky and is now being turned into a film!
Produced by Michael De Luca (producer for Captain Phillips) and Solipsist Film’s L’Heureux, here’s what Glukhovsky had to say regarding his work being turned into a film:
My novel and I have been waiting for this to happen for the last 10 years…I have previously been extremely careful about handing my ‘baby’ over to Hollywood producers for adaption for a feature film, but now I feel that it has landed in the right hands. De Luca and L’Heureux have a great vision for this project, and I feel it’s an honor to work with them.
For those not familiar with Metro 2033’s story, it focuses on Arytom, a man who survived World War III by hiding in Moscow’s subway system, which is the world’s largest nuclear fallout shelter. And well, I’ll just link to Wikipedia to avoid any spoilers.
Anyone looking forward to this or are you dreading it will turn out like the other video game movie adaptations?
