Ever wanted to see Valve’s Half-Life or Portal on the big screen? What about if they’re worked on by Star Wars VII director J.J. Abrams?
While that might sound like some farfetched reality, Abrams confirmed in an interview that movie stories for both games are being worked on right now.
Not yet, but they’re in development…And we’ve got writers, and we’re working on both those stories. But nothing that would be an exciting update.
Bear in mind that Abrams and Valve boss Gabe Newell first talked about both franchises being turned into movies way back in 2013, so the fact that both properties’ stories are still being worked on now means it’s moving at a slow pace. Nonetheless, a Half-Life or Portal movie and Abrams is involved? Yeah, I gather a lot would be interested in that, no?
Do you trust Abrams to do a movie based on a game franchise? Or will it turn out the same as almost all games to movie adaptations?
