Cosmic Star Heroine Pegged for Summer Release, Beta Details Announced

Cosmic Star Heroine, Zeboyd Games’ Kickstarter project and turn-based RPG, has narrowed its release window to summer 2016.

Word comes by way of the game’s official crowdfunding page, revealing that the pixel art title is now due to drop for PS4 and PS Vita “sometime in June, July, or August of 2016.”

Inspired by such genre classics as Chrono Trigger, Phantasy Star and Suikoden, Zeboyd Games went on to give a brief status report for Cosmic Star Heroine

It’s looking like we’ll be done with all of the art/animation assets (minus any scenario-specific odds and ends we may have overlooked) by the end of April (next month, woo!) and the game should be fully playable from start to finish a few weeks after that. After that, it’s time for the final stages of polishing, debugging, marketing, and getting the game approved for release.

Before a summer debut, a beta test is also on the cards. According to the developer, plans are in place “to start the beta next month (hopefully early next month). The beta will initially just include the first few hours of the game and at a later date the rest of the game will unlock.”

In light of today’s status report, expect Cosmic Star Heroine to make a beeline for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita at some point during the summer.
