Solely developed by Eric Barone, open-ended country-life RPG Stardew Valley could come to consoles at some point.
Speaking with Game Informer, Barone revealed that he’s been contacted by “some of the big names,” there’s “all kinds of stuff happening right now,” and he’s swamped with meetings.
While he stopped short of saying a console release would definitely happen – it took him four years to develop Stardew Valley for PC and he still works alone – he did add, “I don’t even want to say when it’ll come to consoles but it’s something I really want to do and I want to do it as soon as I can, but there’s just a lot of other things on my plate and I have to decide what order is most important.”
Released at the end of February for $14.99, Stardew Valley had sold 380,000 copies on Steam and GOG by March 8. On March 9, that number was updated to 425,000.
