After a month without any new PlayStation 2 games on PlayStation 4, Sony and D3 released Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords today in North America for $9.99. There’s currently no listing on the European PlayStation Store, and neither region mentioned it in their weekly Store post.
Here’s the description, which points out that it may play differently from the PS2 original:
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords delivers, for the first time ever, classic puzzle-game action backed with an epic story of good vs. evil. Challenge your puzzle skills in single-player campaign mode, or battle your friends via multiplayer. Experience a puzzle game like nothing you have played before.
This title has been converted from the original PlayStation 2 version to the PS4 system. Consequently, there may be times where the title plays differently from the PlayStation 2 version, or where some features may not function properly. This version does not support PlayStation 2 peripherals, therefore some functionality may not be available.
Sticking with the theme of $9.99 PS2 games on PS4 not including a Platinum Trophy, Exophase confirms that Challenge of the Warlords only features Gold, Silver, and Bronze Trophies.
From the initially announced list of PS2 games on PS4, we’re still waiting for The King of Fighters 2000.
