Firewatch Likely to Run at 1080p/30fps on PS4, 60fps Isn’t as Important Since It’s Not a Shooter

When Firewatch from developer Campo Santo hits PlayStation 4 and PC/Mac on February 9, it will run at 1080p on PS4.

The confirmation comes from Campo Santo Co-Founder Sean Vanaman, who told GamingBolt that Firewatch was running at 30 frames-per-second the last time he played it:

The game is definitely in 1080p – last I played it was at 30fps. It’s not a high-action shooter so 60fps, etc, is not as important. There aren’t any rad explosions you can bask in.

Listed as one of the 20 exclusives that “make PS4 the best place to play in 2016,” Firewatch is a timed console exclusive on PS4.

According to Vanaman, there’s no plans for it to appear on Xbox One, but they “want as many folks to play the game over the long term as possible.” As for why it isn’t planned for Xbox One right now, Vanaman said it’s because they’re “a small studio and can only do so much.”
