During the latest episode of the PlayStation Blogcast, Sony confirmed that Fantavision is the next PlayStation 2 game coming to PlayStation 4, releasing on December 22 in North America, complete with Trophies and 1080p up-rendering.
A PS2 launch title, we don’t know if Fantavision will have a Platinum Trophy, so stay tuned for the PlayStation Store Update on Tuesday (so far, it looks like $9.99 PS2 games on PS4 don’t have a Platinum, while $14.99 games do). Although this confirmation is only for North America, Fantavision may launch on December 22 in Europe as well.
With the release date of Fantavision known, this leaves The King of Fighters 2000 and Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits as the next two upcoming PS2 games on PS4. According to a rating, Max Payne may be on the way as well.
If you have any requests for PS2 games you’d like to see on PS4, or any feedback about their Trophies, you can let Sony know on Twitter using #PS2PS4.
As for other previously unknown new releases next week in North America, the Blogcast confirmed that Infinifactory is coming to PlayStation 4, with Never Alone making its PlayStation 3 debut.
Will you be getting Fantavision?
