When everyone’s favorite monochromatic bear hits Vita and PS4 next year in New Danganronpa V3, it’ll be in unfamiliar territory, according to those involved with the game’s creation. According to Famitsu, the presence of Monokuma will be pretty much the only connection to previous Danganronpa games.
Familiarity might not necessarily be seen as a negative, given the previous games’ wonderful reception, but the creators are stressing the importance of that word “New” in the game’s title. Producer Yoshinori Terasawa and scenario writer Kazutaka Kodaka are saying that this “New” means a new setting, new characters, and new gameplay. We’ll see how true this all is when the game comes out next year.
